Simplicity=Consistency

Updated: Dec 9

As salaamu ‘alaykum السلام عليكم

Dear sisters I pray that all of you are well and that whatever struggles you may be dealing with are a means of increasing your emaan, blessings, and that Allaah enter you into Jannah

Aameen 🤲🏼

I wanted to offer this brief post about keeping things simple and how this leads to being consistent. I often get asked “How can I be consistent.” Consistent in whatever area of life whether it be worship, maintaining good health, seeking knowledge, being positive, and basically any area of life. How can you be consistent?

Well for starters knowing your motivation or your “why” for the goal you want to be consistent with. What’s your intention basically. And if it is for the sake of pleasing Allaah, then this automatically helps with being consistent.

Tying any goal toward pleasing Allaah even if it’s a worldly goal can be done. (As long as it’s not a Haraam act) For example a person may want to attain better health. You can connect attaining better health to being stronger so that you can fulfill more acts of worship to Allaah like fasting and salaah because being healthier gives you the strength to be able to apply these physical acts of worship better AlHamdulillaah.

Although you want to be healthier for yourself too by looking more attractive and feeling better, you would reap both the benefits for you and the blessings from Allaah In shaa Allaah.

Second, is to KEEP IT SIMPLE. I cannot stress this enough. Often times we find women going above and beyond to accomplish a goal or a regimen they desire to do. And it’s so difficult upon the person that they end up dropping and not continuing with the goal.

Consult with those who have been doing things consistently and you will find that if they’ve been doing it for years then it’s usually simple habits done each day to maintain the desired goal or level. Continuing good habits daily is by making it easy upon yourself with the tasks you do daily.

So for example, a person wants to start taking herbs or Supplements daily. And they want to continue this practice. So to maintain this goal you won’t maintain it by cramming handfuls of pills each day rather, each day you may take one or two tablets of various herbs. In doing this you can easily pop a tablet in your mouth daily as opposed to trying to shove handfuls in daily.

Or a person wants to read Quraan everyday. You don’t set a daily goal of 20 pages when you know it’s a struggle to read even a few pages. If so a person gets discouraged when they cannot maintain this daily goal and then they quit. What is better is to set a goal of one or two pages per day. And you know it’s easy upon you. So you reach that goal daily and it strengthens and encourages you. After awhile each day you’re reading Quraan easily because you set a realistic simple goal that suits your level daily. KEEP IT SIMPLE.

I can go on and on with examples however I’m trying to keep this brief. Use these two tips in your affairs and you will see the improvement In shaa Allaah. Something is better than nothing. Quality over quantity. Remember that it’s not about how much you do it’s about sticking to it! This is the real test.

Our daily habits determine who we are and what we stand for. So maintain blessed easy habits daily so that we have a better chance to die upon those good habits this takes consistency In shaa Allaah.

I pray that the reader finds benefit in this post and that in sharing it’ll help spread awareness on how simplicity equals consistency. Baarak Allaahu Feekum بارك الله فيكم
